Dr. Kelly has been a social worker for over 20 years, and her career has been built on the foundation of helping and assisting all individuals. Within her daily practice, she holds true to the values of treating all walks of life with acceptance, compassion, equality, and respect. She believes in creating a secure place for individuals and couples so they can communicate openly and freely about what they would like to see for their own lives.

Throughout her career, she has worked with all age groups, communities, and backgrounds and she enjoys learning from her clients and helping them as they feel empowered to make their own decisions regarding their lives.

Sara has a Master’s degree in Social Work through UW-Milwaukee and a Doctorate degree in Social Work through Simmons University. Her clinical training came from the Family Therapy Training Institute and was focused on the family system models of practice.

Sara strongly encourages others to take time for themselves, learn about ways to slow down in life, and find enjoyment and happiness around them. She says, "I want people to feel energized in wanting change for themselves through my work with them." Within her clinical work, she utilizes narrative style therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, while incorporating mindfulness techniques, CBT interventions, somatic interventions, and MI principles. She has training in assisting those who have experienced complex trauma in their past, and is an an ally to the LGBTQ community and advocate for those living in marginalized communities. She is also a certified Advance Care Plan Specialist and helps develop end-of-life wishes and Advance Directives for individuals.
